Beachy wins again

The Braves picked up a good win against Seattle Monday night in the series opener, 3-1.  The Braves got another great outing from Brandon Beachy. He went 6 innings allowing 1 run on 3 hits with 1 walk and 9 Ks to bring his ERA to 3.04. Afterward Beachy said, “I’m wasting too many pitches. I’d like to get deeper in games.” I like that; he got the win but he’s still not satisfied. It would be nice to see him get past the 6th. His only mistake was a 4th inning homerun allowed to Adam Kennedy.

On offense we again did the bare minimum. McCann put us up 1-0 with his 14th homer in the first (with 2 outs). In the 7th, Freeman hit his 9th homer, a 2 run shot to complete the scoring. We had 5 hits total, 3 of which were by McCann. He’s on fire right now with 5 homers in his last 8 games. Kimbrel came on in the 9th and struck out the side to gain his 21st save.
